You bring your favorite nerf gun that uses regular darts (no mega darts, ultra or balls) we will supply the darts. Absolutely no nerf gun with modifications. Nerf guns must have the bright color and no painted. Referees have final say in games.

CAPTURE THE FLAG
Each team is given a colored flag, which is placed on their side of the field. The goal is to defend their own flag while also attempting to capture and steal the opponent’s flag. The first team to capture the other team’s flag best two out of three rounds will be the declared winner and will advance. There will be a time frame of 5 min. total play, in order to keep the game moving.
To defend your flag, you may shoot oncoming opponents who will then be forced to return to home base to respawn.





  • General Rules
    Face Hits
    Do not intentionally shoot another player in the face or head when it is possible to shoot someone in the torso/center of mass. It's easier to hit someone that way anyway.
    -Blind Firing
    No blind firing. You must be able to see some part of your opponent while you are firing on them.
    - Ricochets
    Ricochets hits do not count. You do not have to take a hit from a dart that bounced off of a wall, the ground or another person before it hit you. 
    -Calling Hits 

    Do not call a hit on another player while the dart is still in the air. Do not call a hit unless it appears that your target has ignored or failed to notice that they were tagged. If you constantly call hits while the dart is in the air or when the dart actually missed, you will be warned twice and the third time will result in removal from the game. 
    - Talking during a round/Arguing over hits
    Do not get into an argument over whether you were tagged. If someone insists that they
    tagged you, and you did not see whether the dart hit, just take the hit. If someone is
    repeatedly making bad calls or otherwise causing an issue, tell the event organizer after
    the round is over and they will have the final say. If someone hits you because you were not paying attention and were talking to another player, it still counts. If you need to stop the round, you can call "Hold" but otherwise you are in play and fair game.
    Calling a 'Hold'
    At any time during a round, anyone can call "Hold", which will temporarily stop that round.
    Players should repeat the call of Hold so that all other players hear, until the round stops
    completely. If a pedestrian is walking through the field, if a player is injured or if there is
    some other threat to personal safety, you are obligated to call hold. You can call a hold to
    pause the game and sort out some issue that is not a matter of personal safety, but do
    not abuse it.

    Combat Rules
    • Do not throw or drop guns. Nerf guns can break easily!
    • Safety Glasses MUST be worn while in play!
    • Do not leave the base until the main whistle blows. There is a warning whistle about
    30 seconds before the main whistle, which can release you into the battle. When end
    whistle blows stop all firing, wait to return flag or end the game.
    • Play honestly. If you get hit, that makes you dead or wounded. Make sure to play fair
    and fall down if you do get hit.
    • Hits to the head and torso count as kills. Hits in all other locations, such as the arms,
    legs, or side, count as injuries but not deaths.
    • During play if you are hit by a dart anywhere on your body you are “tagged” and you must
    hold your blaster over your head, signaling you’ve been tagged, and return to your home
    base to a designated area to respawn.
    • Reloading is only allowed while you are “in play”, meaning no reloading after you are
    tagged until you have respawn.
    • If you captured the opponent’s flag and you are hit by a dart before the Flag makes it to
    your base you must drop the flag, raise your blaster above your head as you return to your home base to respawn. The flag is still in play; the flag can be picked up by another team member or original team and returned back to its base.

    Equipment Rules




Player should bring their own nerf gun with their name on it. Nerf gun must brightly colored and not have any modifications. We will only be using reglar foam darts (no mega darts, ultra or balls)
Darts will be provided to allow for an even playing field.
• Don’t use damaged darts. Damaged darts will jam your gun.
• Try not to damage the darts. You should avoid stepping on, stuffing, or roughly handling
darts. They damage easily.
• No physical contact. The first safety rule is one of the most important. There is no hitting, kicking, pushing, pulling, wrestling, or physical attacking of an opponent involved in Rockland Nerf Wars. The only physical contact that should be made with another player is in the form of tapping, which is used to get someone “out”, to “revive” someone, or to save them from a hostage situation.
• No intentional face shots. If you hit someone's head you are automatically out.
• Always wear eye protection. During your Nerf war battles, it’s important to keep on protective eye wear at all times. This can protect you from those accidental face shots from the enemy team, as well as keep you from taking penalties.

Safety Rules
• All Nerf Guns and Darts will be provided to allow for an even playing field.
• Don’t use damaged darts. Damaged darts will jam your gun.
• Do not throw darts. Nerf darts are made to be loaded into your gun, and should be
treated like actual bullets.
• Try not to damage the darts. You should avoid stepping on, stuffing, or roughly handling
darts. They damage easily.


Attire
-Do not use silver, black, or camouflage colors on your blaster. An orange tip is not
enough. If your blaster resembles a firearm, paintball gun, or airsoft gun, you may be
required to cover a large portion in orange duct tape. Blasters should look like a toy.
-Do not wear an all-black, camouflage, military, or law enforcement style uniform/clothing.
For example, if you want to wear camo pants, wear a bright t-shirt or other non-military
attire. Do not wear a matching camo shirt, olive drab t-shirt, etc.
-Do not wear a mask. Paintball, airsoft, or costume masks included. Headshots are not
encouraged, so safety goggles or glasses should be enough.
General Courtesy
-Don't touch anyone's stuff without asking.
-Pick up all darts when you dart sweep, and put darts that are not yours in the community
dart bin, so other people can retrieve their ammo. You can use whatever you pick up
during a round, but when the round is over, you should give back any ammo that doesn't
belong to you.
-Be prepared to play. When a round is starting, pay attention to your host and try to keep
things moving. If your gear breaks, or you run out of ammo, don't expect anyone to wait
on you.
-Don't shoot anyone who is not in play playing. Do not shoot anyone outside of the
designated area or after the round is over.
