The Program: This 8-week outdoor program is designed for children entering grades 5th-9th or up to age 15. Activities planned include wiffleball, volleyball, basketball, flag/touch football, street hockey, arts & crafts, board games, field games, swimming, and much more. RTA runs Monday- Thursday, including field trips on Tuesday & Thursday. Staff Ratio for this program will be between 1:10 - 1:15. Please note you CAN NOT register for individual days.
Location: Hartsuff Park Recreation Area (146 Hingham Street)
Rain Days will be at the Rockland Community Center (394 Union St.) drop off is around back. If it is a rain day you will be notified by email or you can look on our website or our Facebook Page.
Payment must be made 10 business days prior to the start of the week your child will be attending.
Every Wednesday:
Kona Ice will be on every Wednesday which is free to all registered participants.
Weekly Fees: Monday - Thursday, 8:45am - 3pm: $230
This rate includes 2 t-shirts 2 field trips and all supplies
Extended Hours:
7:30am-8:45am for an additional fee of $10/morning
3pm-5pm for an additional fee of $15/day.
The staff to child ratio for AM & PM care will not exceed 1:10.
If you are late picking up your child the following applies:
- First 5 minutes: Grace Period
- Each 5 minutes thereafter: $5.00 per 5 minutes/child
Example: If your child is scheduled to be picked up at 3:00 and you do not pick up till 3:20 you will be charged $15.00 for the staff’s time.
Registration:
Student is only considered registered (and spot reserved) in a program once payment is received. Online registration & payment is the quickest and easiest way to secure a spot in a program. Registration is also accepted in our office and by mail on a first-come first-served basis. All registrations must be made in advance in order to provide adequate staffing.
Payment:
- Payment must be received no later than the two weeks prior to the start of your child's registered week. Payment can be made on line or at the office (394 Union St.)
- If we do not receive payment then your child will not be considered registered for the week.
- If you have a balance owed from the previous year you will not be considered register until you pay off the balance.
- An email will go out to remind you that payment is due. Please make sure that we have the correct email.

Refunds & Cancellation:
- There will be a $10 processing fee for all refunds/credits.
- Cancellation requests must be made in writing to rocklandrec@rockland-ma.gov at least 2 weeks 10 business days prior to the start of the program. Due to the restrictions with our field trip vendors you will not receive the cost of the field trip if your cancellation is past the 2 week time frame.
Age Requirement: Participants must be the minimum age for the program or turn that age within the first week of the program.
Confirmations: Please keep a record of your registration. Confirmations are emailed as soon as your registration is processed; no further confirmations or reminders are provided.
Lunch: FREE Lunch is available if the teens would like Mondays & Wednesdays. It is provided by a grant program called Picnic in the Park. We will do our best to send you a menu ahead of time. Please note if this grant is not awarded to the town of Rockland we will notify you to send your child with a lunch.

Backpacks should include CLEARLY LABELED:
-Bathing suit
-Water shoes, these are REQUIRED for the children to enter the pond. NO EXCEPTIONS

-Please wear sneakers. NO OPEN-TOE SHOES

Forms:
A copy of your child's most recent physical is required. Please fill out the online forms and keep a watch for permission slips that need to be filled out prior to the trip.
T-Shirts: Registrations by April 30th will be guaranteed their t-shirt size.
Registrations after that date can not be guaranteed the exact size.
Also, if you do not answer the question of what size shirt your child will wear then we can not guarantee their size.
Please Read:
If your child is not feeling well or is exhibiting any of the following symptoms please keep them home.
- a fever
- a cough
- sore throat
- fast breathing
- chills
- shaking with chills
- muscle pain
- headache
- a loss of taste or smell
- Has been in contact with anyone with Covid
Illness Policy:
- Children must be healthy enough to participate in the program’s daily routine.
We do not have the facilities to care for sick children and therefore do not allow them to attend the Program. For the safety and comfort of your child, please keep them home until they feel better and no longer present the danger of passing on their illness.
- If you are keeping your child home due to illness, please contact the recreation office by 7:45 am and let the Program Director know of your child’s absence.
- When your child has a fever (of 100.5) or vomiting/diarrhea, please make sure they remain at home for 24 hours after their temperature and symptoms returns to normal. We may require a physician’s release for any medical or health condition.
- If your child becomes ill while at our program, you will be asked to pick up your child as soon as possible.
The following are defined as illness or communicable health problems:
- Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye)
- A chronic runny nose with colored discharge
- A chronic cough
- A fever
- Vomiting or upset stomach
- Signs of general fatigue or discomfort
- An open rash
- Knowledge that the child has had a fever within the past 24 hours
We ensure the safety of all participants in our programs. Therefore we hold the right to decline/remove any child from any program provided that the child is:
1)Potentially putting themselves at risk of injury
2) Potentially putting others at risk of injury through their actions
3) Blatantly disregarding proper safety rules as set forth by the instructor of the program.
