The Rockland Recreation and Drama Kids are excited for our Spring Performance Session!Drama Kids Performance Session for grades K-8Drama Kids is a creative literacy program where kids  "ACT UP" with a purpose! Our Spring Performance session takes our skills to the stage.  We concentrate on all aspects of a staged performance while continuing to build confidence and growth through theater. New Program!!  Please have your children join Olivia and Jeanne to learn the basics of cooking. Students will work on building their confidence in the kitchen while creating delicious and easy foods.   They will leave with the recipe for the day and their creation.  We do not have a oven so we will not be baking the cooking will be done on burners only.  We will be sharing the burner with all of the students taking turns cooking their creations.  We will work on the following:Kitchen safetyCutting SkillsMeasurementsMenu planningCleaning and sanitationAnd much more....This hands on course will build the skills to help your child gain more independence in the kitchen! Rockland Recreation has teamed up with Cardinal Yoga and Body Work out to bring you this 6 week Gentle Flow Yoga class.  This class is beginner friendly mat based class for all abilities.  The instructor will be teaching using the mirror method to help teach the poses.   This class is suited for ages 18 and up however if you have a child 14 and older that would like to attend the program with you please call the office to register them for the class. 781-871-1730 or email us at rocklandrec@rockland-ma.govNo Class on ThanksgivingWhat to bring: Yoga Mat WaterTowel   About the instructor: Greg Belcher, Owner/Operator/Co-founder – Licensed Massage Therapist, RYT 200, Polarity Therapist, Reiki Master Teacher – One of Cardinal’s co-founders, came to yoga unexpectedly, and never looked back. Greg was seeking a practice that would increase his agility and flexibility as he trained for his 1st Degree Black Belt. By incorporating yoga, massage and energy work into his training he is currently a 3rd Degree Black Belt with 5+ years experience teaching Tae Kwon Do. Since earning his 200 hr teacher certification through Sacred Space Yoga School in May 2014 Greg continues his journey by currently working towards an additional 300 hr certification. Coach Marisa will be helped out by other staff members to bring volleyball classes back to Rockland Rec!Students will learn the basic rules of volleyball, positions, how to hit the ball several different ways, and how to score points. Classes will be set up so each student is progressing to become the best player that they can be.This class will be run for 6 weeks. Note: there will be no classes 12/26 or 1/2.Students will be required to wear padded knee pads to make sure they do not hurt themselves while playing.Please Read: If your child is not feeling well or is exhibiting any of the following symptoms please keep them home. - a fever - a cough- sore throat- fast breathing- chills- shaking with chills- muscle pain- headache- a loss of taste or smellWearing of Face Masks:  Face masks are required to participate in the program. Rockland Recreation presents: F.A.S.T Athletics!Minihoops, miniballs and a ton of fun! This class is created for 3-6 year olds and will work on having fun while learning some fundamentals of basketball. 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM    Teen Center Program - Teen Center Night
Welcome Back!!  This is a modified version of what we have done in the past and will follow the Massachusetts State Guidelines. Masks:  Due to the increase in COVID Cases and the new variant we will be requiring that anyone attending must wear a mask.  The only exception will be medical.  You will need to provide a doctors note to the Recreation Office. Please note:  If we find it is too difficult to run under the current guide lines then we may shut down the program.  Volunteer's are needed!  Please contact the office at 781-871-1730 to volunteer.  Registration: You must register and pay on line for the day they want to attend. We are limiting this night to 40 kids.  We will allow 25 kids in the gym and the remainder in the blue room and the snack bar area.  Snack Bar We will have our snack bar open but the kids will have a designated time to eat and once there time is up we will sanitize the area before the next group comes in to eat. We are limiting the area to 10 teens. The kids will not be allowed to walk around and eat they have to sit and eat at their designated time.  Bathrooms We are only allowing one person at a time in the bathrooms.  We will be sanitizing the bathrooms every 30 minutes.  GymWe will be playing organized games in the gym and have tournaments.  Teens may only have water in the gym. Welcome Back!!  This is a modified version of what we have done in the past and will follow the Massachusetts State Guidelines. Masks:  Due to the increase in COVID Cases and the new variant we will be requiring that anyone attending must wear a mask.  The only exception will be medical.  You will need to provide a doctors note to the Recreation Office. Please note:  If we find it is too difficult to run under the current guide lines then we may shut down the program.  Volunteer's are needed!  Please contact the office at 781-871-1730 to volunteer.  Registration: You must register and pay on line for the day they want to attend. We are limiting this night to 40 kids.  We will allow 25 kids in the gym and the remainder in the blue room and the snack bar area.  Snack Bar We will have our snack bar open but the kids will have a designated time to eat and once there time is up we will sanitize the area before the next group comes in to eat. We are limiting the area to 10 teens. The kids will not be allowed to walk around and eat they have to sit and eat at their designated time.  Bathrooms We are only allowing one person at a time in the bathrooms.  We will be sanitizing the bathrooms every 30 minutes.  GymWe will be playing organized games in the gym and have tournaments.  Teens may only have water in the gym. Coach Marisa will be helped out by other staff members to bring volleyball classes back to Rockland Rec!Students will learn the basic rules of volleyball, positions, how to hit the ball several different ways, and how to score points. Rockland Recreation has teamed up with Premier Hoops to bring you this December Vacation Skills Clinic.  Description:Join the #1 Skills Training Program in New England with this explosive 3-day basketball skills clinic! During each two-hour session players will work on non-contact skills such as dribble moves, footwork, shooting and balance. Rockland Recreation has teamed up with Premier Hoops to bring you this December Vacation Skills Clinic.  Description:Join the #1 Skills Training Program in New England with this explosive 3-day basketball skills clinic! During each two-hour session players will work on non-contact skills such as dribble moves, footwork, shooting and balance. Our D1 and professional coaches will teach your children the fundamentals and unique drills to practice by themselves.Premier Hoops Refund Policy Due to COVID, there are inherent risks of signing up for youth sports programs, which could be cancelled at any time with out the control of Premier Hoops.  When registering please understand that we do not provide full refunds.  For Facility shut downs due to COVID, you will receive a credit towards other programs.  What To Bring: - Basketball with their name on it - Face Mask or Two (Most kids like playing in the paper masks) - Plenty of water in a bottles marked with their name. - Small bottle of hand sanitizer  - A towel to wipe their face.- A backpack for their items with their name on it. Please Read: If your child is not feeling well or is exhibiting any of the following symptoms please keep them home. - a fever - a cough- sore throat- fast breathing- chills- shaking with chills- muscle pain- headache- a loss of taste or smellWearing of Face Masks:  Face masks are required to participate in the program.
