Lego Robotics with Code Wiz - Lego Robotics ROBOTICS
Lego Robotics An exciting curriculum designed for students aged 6 to 12, incorporating the CODES model to teach the basics of robotics. This hands-on course utilizes the LEGO Education SPIKE Prime Set and the Scratch visual programming interface to explore the fundamentals of robotics. Students will delve into practical robotics projects involving touch sensors, motors, ultrasonic sensors, color sensors, light sensors, movement, gears, tires, and threads. Each session sets evaluation standards to assess students' comprehension, problem-solving skills, coding proficiency, and creativity. By providing constructive feedback, students are inspired to refine their projects, celebrate their accomplishments, and continue their exploration and innovation in the captivating world of robotics. This course is an introduction to competitive Robotics.

About the Instructor Julia is a former M.A.D. Dancer and fitness enthusiast. She has been teaching group-x since 2011 and is trained in Zumba and Zumba step, as well as having her 200 hr Power Yoga certification from Wicked OM yoga, and a Barre certification from Balancepoint. She is currently a vocational academic teacher at Cardinal Cushing Centers and is studying pilates. She has taught exercise classes to all ages and abilities and she hopes to share her attitude of joyful movement with the community. Any damage incurred by members will be recorded and the Guardian/Guardian is responsible for replacing the items. This includes and is not limited to: media equipment, furniture, and recreational equipment.- If graffiti is discovered, this program will be closed until further notice.Personal Property• The Recreation Department is not responsible for ANY personal belongings, including but not limited to: hats, coats, bags, wristlets, pocketbooks, cell phones, personal video games, sweatshirts, recreational items, etc.• All members must respect the property of others – the Recreation Department will not be held responsible if any member damages another member’s personal property.Safety - 24-hour VIDEO CAMERAS are in use at the Community Center. - Emergency exits and fire extinguishers are for emergency use only. There is one non-emergency door used to enter and exit the Community Center. - NO drugs, alcohol, Juuls, vaping/smoking of any kind at any time either inside or on the surrounding grounds will be tolerated and is absolutely forbidden. If any type of smoking devices or drug are found Guardians will be contacted, items will be confiscated, and in the case of drugs or drug related contraband including Juuls/Vape Pens the police will be contacted. It is Against the Law to smoke on Town Property. - Anyone attempting to gain entry that is or appears to be under the influence of any of these will be turned away at the door. About the instructor:Sydney is an alumni from Johnson and Wales baking and pastry program. She has been in the food industry since she was 16, and fell in love with the craft of baking from that age. From then, she's worked in Italian bakery’s, cake decorating bakeries, restaurants doing plated desserts! In school, she learned everything from chocolates to breads to viennoiserie to cakes! With the skills learned, Sydney started an online bakery business called Sugah Sweet in May of 2023! From then on, she has been focusing on that and working in Boston Seaport as well!

About the instructor: Greg Belcher, Owner/Operator/Co-founder – Licensed Massage Therapist, RYT 200, Polarity Therapist, Reiki Master Teacher – One of Cardinal’s co-founders, came to yoga unexpectedly, and never looked back. Greg was seeking a practice that would increase his agility and flexibility as he trained for his 1st Degree Black Belt. By incorporating yoga, massage and energy work into his training he is currently a 3rd Degree Black Belt with 5+ years experience teaching Tae Kwon Do. Since earning his 200 hr teacher certification through Sacred Space Yoga School in May 2014 Greg continues his journey by currently working towards an additional 300 hr certification. Along his continuing journey he has also become a Reiki Master Teacher in addition to working with other energy modalities and most recently graduating from Spa-Tech’s 770 hr Hollistic Massage Therapy Program. About the instructor: Greg Belcher, Owner/Operator/Co-founder – Licensed Massage Therapist, RYT 200, Polarity Therapist, Reiki Master Teacher – One of Cardinal’s co-founders, came to yoga unexpectedly, and never looked back. Greg was seeking a practice that would increase his agility and flexibility as he trained for his 1st Degree Black Belt. By incorporating yoga, massage and energy work into his training he is currently a 3rd Degree Black Belt with 5+ years experience teaching Tae Kwon Do.
