Any damage incurred by members will be recorded and the Guardian/Guardian is responsible for replacing the items.  This includes and is not limited to: media equipment, furniture, and recreational equipment.- If graffiti is discovered, this program will be closed until further notice.Personal Property• The Recreation Department is not responsible for ANY personal belongings, including but not limited to: hats, coats, bags, wristlets, pocketbooks, cell phones, personal video games, sweatshirts, recreational items, etc.• All members must respect the property of others – the Recreation Department will not be held responsible if any member damages another member’s personal property.Safety - 24-hour VIDEO CAMERAS are in use at the Community Center. - Emergency exits and fire extinguishers are for emergency use only. There is one non-emergency door used to enter and exit the Community Center. - NO drugs, alcohol, Juuls, vaping/smoking of any kind at any time either inside or on the surrounding grounds will be tolerated and is absolutely forbidden. If any type of smoking devices or drug are found Guardians will be contacted, items will be confiscated, and in the case of drugs or drug related contraband including Juuls/Vape Pens the police will be contacted.  It is Against the Law to smoke on Town Property. - Anyone attempting to gain entry that is or appears to be under the influence of any of these will be turned away at the door. Police will be contacted.Rockland Recreation/Community Center Code of Conduct - Bullying Will Never Be Tolerated - Rockland Recreation reserves the right to send teens home that are not following rules and are being disrespectful. - No tolerance will be given for bullying. We ask that Guardians email us with any issue       that they may be aware of, even if it happens someplace else, so that Rockland Recreation staff can keep a close eye on any situation that may escalate. -  We do our best to monitor social media, but it is not our place to confiscate and look through phones being used at The Community Center.Behavior• All members must always keep their hands to themselves.• Use of profane, abusive, or obscene language, including racial, religious, or sexual references, will not be tolerated, if members are disrespectful to the staff & Volunteers it will result in (1) loss of Community Center privileges, (2) removal from the program for the afternoon, and/or (3) suspension at the discretion of the Advisory Board.• Physical and verbal threats, and the use of physical force will not be tolerated, including any inappropriate or disruptive behavior.o In the event of a fight at the Community Center, staff will take all measures to ensure the safety of all members. Parties directly involved will be immediately reported to the guardian. They will be suspended until the next Advisory Board meeting, when the terms of suspension will bediscussed.• Any member asked to leave the Community Center and/or has been suspended must leave the grounds immediately and guardians will be contacted. Members in Grade 5-8 will be held at the front desk and Guardians will be required to pick-up their child.• In the event of suspension, the Advisory Board will discuss terms at the next regularly scheduled meeting.Depending on the nature of the suspension, the Advisory Board will determine if that member will be reinstated. Guardians will receive a letter with the ruling. Members may appeal the suspension in writing or in person at the monthly meeting.o A suspended member may not be on the grounds of the Community Center during hours of operation – any suspended member found on the grounds will be considered trespasser and police will be notified. Welcome Back!2025-2026 Registration: You must register and pay on line for the day they want to attend. We are limiting the nights to 50 kids.  That may go down if we don't have enough volunteers or staff to run the teen center. Snack BarWe will have our snack bar open and the kids will have a designated area to eat.  We do not allow any outside food or drink.  Food and drink is also not allowed in the blue room and in the gym.  Bathrooms We permit only one person in the bathroom at a time. If there is more than one child inside, we will ask the others to wait outside. If they do not comply, the staff may ask them to leave.GymWe will be playing organized games in the gym and have tournaments.  Teens may only have water in the gym. ROBOTICS  Lego Robotics An exciting curriculum designed for students aged 6 to 12, incorporating the CODES model to teach the basics of robotics. This hands-on course utilizes the LEGO Education SPIKE Prime Set and the Scratch visual programming interface to explore the fundamentals of robotics. Students will delve into practical robotics projects involving touch sensors, motors, ultrasonic sensors, color sensors, light sensors, movement, gears, tires, and threads. Each session sets evaluation standards to assess students' comprehension, problem-solving skills, coding proficiency, and creativity. Rockland Recreation has teamed up with Cardinal Yoga and Body Work! Greg was seeking a practice that would increase his agility and flexibility as he trained for his 1st Degree Black Belt. By incorporating yoga, massage and energy work into his training he is currently a 3rd Degree Black Belt with 5+ years experience teaching Tae Kwon Do. Since earning his 200 hr teacher certification through Sacred Space Yoga School in May 2014 Greg continues his journey by currently working towards an additional 300 hr certification. Welcome Back!2025-2026 Registration: You must register and pay on line for the day they want to attend. We are limiting the nights to 50 kids.  That may go down if we don't have enough volunteers or staff to run the teen center. Snack BarWe will have our snack bar open and the kids will have a designated area to eat.  We do not allow any outside food or drink.  Food and drink is also not allowed in the blue room and in the gym.  Bathrooms We permit only one person in the bathroom at a time. If there is more than one child inside, we will ask the others to wait outside. If they do not comply, the staff may ask them to leave.GymWe will be playing organized games in the gym and have tournaments.  Teens may only have water in the gym.
