After School Hours 2:45pm-5:00pm
Dates: January 29th, February 26th, April 30th, May 21st, May 28th, June 11th
Location: Rockland Recreation Center
Grades: 5th & 6th
Cost: $10 per day

Who can Attend: All Rockland residents or if your child is enrolled in Rockland Public Schools and is in Grades 5 & 6

Entering & Exiting the program
• All members must arrive before 3:00pm on regular school hours. Admittance will not be allowed after that time.
• All members must check in with a staff member.
• They must remain inside the Community Center until 5PM unless arrangements have been made between the Guardian and a staff member in advance.
• Staff will have the right to search any bags entering the building.
Property & Facilities
- The Community Center facilities must always be respected. Intentionally defacing and/or damaging said property is forbidden and the member at fault will be responsible for returning/replacing the property in the condition in which it was found.
- All materials and equipment are the property of the Rockland Recreation. Any damage incurred by members will be recorded and the Guardian/Guardian is responsible for replacing the items. This includes and is not limited to: media equipment, furniture, and recreational equipment.
- If graffiti is discovered, this program will be closed until further notice.
Personal Property
• The Recreation Department is not responsible for ANY personal belongings, including but not limited to: hats, coats, bags, wristlets, pocketbooks, cell phones, personal video games, sweatshirts, recreational items, etc.
• All members must respect the property of others – the Recreation Department will not be held responsible if any member damages another member’s personal property.
Safety
- 24-hour VIDEO CAMERAS are in use at the Community Center.
- Emergency exits and fire extinguishers are for emergency use only. There is one non-emergency door used to enter and exit the Community Center.
- NO drugs, alcohol, Juuls, vaping/smoking of any kind at any time either inside or on the surrounding grounds will be tolerated and is absolutely forbidden. If any type of smoking devices or drug are found Guardians will be contacted, items will be confiscated, and in the case of drugs or drug related contraband including Juuls/Vape Pens the police will be contacted. It is Against the Law to smoke on Town Property.
- Anyone attempting to gain entry that is or appears to be under the influence of any of these will be turned away at the door. Police will be contacted.
Rockland Recreation/Community Center Code of Conduct
- Bullying Will Never Be Tolerated
- Rockland Recreation reserves the right to send teens home that are not following rules and are being disrespectful.
- No tolerance will be given for bullying. We ask that Guardians email us with any issue that they may be aware of, even if it happens someplace else, so that Rockland Recreation staff can keep a close eye on any situation that may escalate.
- We do our best to monitor social media, but it is not our place to confiscate and look through phones being used at The Community Center.
Behavior
• All members must always keep their hands to themselves.
• Use of profane, abusive, or obscene language, including racial, religious, or sexual references, will not be tolerated, if members are disrespectful to the staff & Volunteers it will result in (1) loss of Community Center privileges, (2) removal from the program for the afternoon, and/or (3) suspension at the discretion of the Advisory Board.
• Physical and verbal threats, and the use of physical force will not be tolerated, including any inappropriate or disruptive behavior.
o In the event of a fight at the Community Center, staff will take all measures to ensure the safety of all members. Parties directly involved will be immediately reported to the guardian. They will be suspended until the next Advisory Board meeting, when the terms of suspension will be
discussed.
• Any member asked to leave the Community Center and/or has been suspended must leave the grounds immediately and guardians will be contacted. Members in Grade 5-8 will be held at the front desk and Guardians will be required to pick-up their child.
• In the event of suspension, the Advisory Board will discuss terms at the next regularly scheduled meeting.
Depending on the nature of the suspension, the Advisory Board will determine if that member will be reinstated. Guardians will receive a letter with the ruling. Members may appeal the suspension in writing or in person at the monthly meeting.
o A suspended member may not be on the grounds of the Community Center during hours of operation – any suspended member found on the grounds will be considered trespasser and police will be notified. The suspended member will also be forbidden from participating in any special activities such as Rockland Recreation dances, field trips, etc.
Registration:
You must register and pay on line for the day they want to attend. We are limiting the afternoons to 30 kids.
Bathrooms:
We are only allowing one person at a time in the bathrooms. Any more than that the child will be asked to leave the bathroom. If they do not then the staff has the right to ask them to leave.
Teen Center Expectations
NO Bullying/Fighting (Be Nice)
NO Drugs/Smoking/Juuls/Vape Pens/Alcohol (Police & Parents will be contacted if confiscate or suspect you have been doing any of the above)
All backpacks will be checked (Don't bring what you shouldn't please)
NO Foul Language (You know what we mean)
Respect each other & Staff (If you want to be respected in return) Please note: Being disrespectful to staff or volunteers may result in immediate removal and parents will be called.

Only 1 person at a time in restrooms (No Exceptions)

Registration & Refund Information
Registration: Student is only considered registered (and spot reserved) in a program once payment is received. Online registration & payment is the quickest and easiest way to secure a spot in a program. Registration is also accepted in our office and by mail on a first-come first-served basis.
Refunds: There will be a $10 processing fee for all refunds/credits and all requests must be made at least 5 business days prior to the start of the program.
Age Requirement: Participants must be the minimum age for the program or turn that age within the first week of the program.
Confirmations: Please keep a record of your registration. Confirmations are emailed as soon as your registration is processed; no further confirmations or reminders are provided.
We ensure the safety of all participants in our programs. Therefore we hold the right to decline/remove any child from any program provided that the child is: 1)Potentially putting themselves at risk of injury, 2) Potentially putting others at risk of injury through their actions, or 3) Blatantly disregarding proper safety rules as set forth by the instructor of the program.
