Rockland Recreation with North and South Rivers Watershed Association presents: Winter Adventures!
Looking to get your kids outside and into an adventure during winter break? Rockland Recreation is partnering with the North and South Rivers Watershed Association to offer fun and safe outdoor activities to Rockland area youth this Winter! The 4-day program includes forest exploration, animal tracking, geocaching, backwoods navigation, and fishing! Youth will gain valuable outdoor skills, all while having fun outside in the winter landscape!
Program includes two experienced guides, including a certified American Red Cross Lifeguard and Wilderness First Responder. All equipment included.
Parents/guardians will drop-off and pick-up their youth at a predetermined location for each day.
Monday - Explore Twin Ponds Trail System. Address approx: 160 Spruce St. Rockland, MA. Forest Exploration, animal tracking, and geocaching. Look for a small parking area off Spruce St along the Rockland/Abington line.
Tuesday - Fishing at Jacobs Pond. Address 81 Jacobs Ln. Norwell, MA. Park and meet in the gravel parking area of Jacobs Pond. Across the street from the South Shore Natural Science Center.
Wednesday - Geocaching Jacobs Pond Conservation Land. Meet at the same location as Tuesday.
Thursday - Exploring Forge Pond and surrounding conservation land. Park and meet at Forge Pond athletic complex. Address: 245 King St. Hanover, MA. Forest Exploration, backwoods navigation, and fishing.
If your child is not feeling well or is exhibiting any of the following symptoms please keep them home.
- a fever
- a cough
- sore throat
- fast breathing
- shaking with chills
- muscle pain
- a loss of taste or smell
Wearing of Face Masks:
Face masks will not be required to participate in the program while outdoors.
Please note, no refunds will be given if COVID guidelines change during your program
Registration & Refund Information
Registration: Student is only considered registered (and spot reserved) in a program once payment is received. Online registration & payment is the quickest and easiest way to secure a spot in a program. Registration is also accepted in our office and by mail on a first-come first-served basis.
Refunds: There will be NO refunds once the program begins!
Age Requirement: Participants must be the minimum age for the program or turn that age within the first week of the program.
Confirmations: Please keep a record of your registration. Confirmations are emailed as soon as your registration is processed; no further confirmations or reminders are provided.
We ensure the safety of all participants in our programs. Therefore we hold the right to decline/remove any child from any program provided that the child is: 1)Potentially putting themselves at risk of injury, 2) Potentially putting others at risk of injury through their actions, or 3) Blatantly disregarding proper safety rules as set forth by the instructor of the program.
