NEW Minds In Motion Electricity & Magnetmania

The Rockland Recreation and Minds in Motion have teamed up to bring you this new program.  Is your child curious about science?  Do they always ask why or how? This is the in person program for them!


Minds In Motion


ELECTRICITY AND MAGNETMANIA (ages 7-12)



Learn all about electronics, magnetism, and more in this fun and educational hands-on workshop!  Take part in our Minds in Motion electronic lab and take home your very own circuit kit.  With the aid of your instructor, simply follow the colorful pictures in your manual to build up to 100 exciting projects such as a flying saucer, alarm, and doorbell!  All parts are mounted on plastic modules and snap together with ease.  You will also take part and witness many cool magnetic experiments including making and taking home the World’s Simplest Motor!  See a mysterious spinning top that never stops and witness a cool magnetic sand timer.  Watch electricity being produced by a hand held generator and take part in a cool activity involving a very powerful magnet.  Behold a special magnetic top levitating and much much more!




Please have your child bring water to class.

This class will be down in the Teen Center Area.  Droop off will be around the side of the building at the Gym Doors. 
 
Please Read: 
If your child is not feeling well or is exhibiting any of the following symptoms please keep them home.   
- a fever 
- a cough
- sore throat
- fast breathing
- chills
- shaking with chills
- muscle pain
- headache
- a loss of taste or smell
If you child has come in contact with anyone who has tested positive please keep them home and call the office.
If your child has tested positive for COVID please contact the Board of Health and the Recreation office so that we can provided contact tracing.  

Wearing of Face Masks:  
Your child will need to wear a face mask at all times including entering and exiting the building.    

Drop Off:
Please come into the building each week.  
At drop off each week you will be asked a series of questions about your child related to COVID 19.  This is information will not be shared unless there has been a confirmed case of COVID -19.  At that point any information we collect will be shared with the health agent and she will share it with the state.   
      

Pick Up:
We will be doing a rolling pick up for the children.  We ask that you stay in your car and let your child come to you.  You are always welcome to wait for your child outside of the door to the building.  



Registration & Refund Information 


Registration: Student is only considered registered (and spot reserved) in a program once payment is received. Online registration & payment is the quickest and easiest way to secure a spot in a program. Registration is also accepted in our office and by mail on a first-come first-served basis.
Refunds: There will be a $10 processing fee for all refunds/credits and all requests must be made at least 5 business days prior to the start of the program.
Age Requirement: Participants must be the minimum age for the program or turn that age within the first week of the program.
Confirmations: Please keep a record of your registration. Confirmations are emailed as soon as your registration is processed; no further confirmations or reminders are provided.
We ensure the safety of all participants in our programs. Therefore we hold the right to decline/remove any child from any program provided that the child is: 1)Potentially putting themselves at risk of injury, 2) Potentially putting others at risk of injury through their actions, or 3) Blatantly disregarding proper safety rules as set forth by the instructor of the program.
