Kids Gardening Club

This program is currently unavailable. Click here to view all of our current programs.

The Kids Gardening Club is designed to educate, as well as bring delight in gardening and horticulture with projects, plantings, and harvesting.  We have raised beds located at Hartsuff Park and will meet at the park once a week for a lesson and to tend to the gardens.  In addition, your child will be required to visit the gardens once a week to either water weed or report back any differences they see with the garden.  We are hoping to have a guest speaker come one of the days to talk about the importance of bee's in gardening.

This program will:

  • Introduce the art and science of gardening using fundamental math, reading and writing skills, as well as practical applications.

  • Increase fine and gross motor skills

  • Increases awareness of the environment, natural resources, ecology, conservation, composting, and recycling.

  • Encourages creativity through observing the cycles of plant life.

  • Develops leadership skills.

  • Promotes responsibility.

  • May lead to future hobbies and career opportunities.

  • Your child will take home some of the vegetables that they grow.

  • Please bring a water bottle with you and wear cloths you don't mind getting dirty.

* Adjustments and discounts will be applied during checkout if applicable. *
